At MPS, we are dedicated to making a meaningful difference in the communities we serve. This year, we are proud to sponsor MPS Queensland’s State Manager, Cameron Sekula in the 7 Cairns Marathon as he runs to raise essential funds for the Humour Foundation.
The Humour Foundation is a national charity dedicated to improving the health and well-being of vulnerable Australians through their extraordinary Clown Doctors and Laughter Care programs. These initiatives bring joy, laughter and emotional care to children in hospitals and elderly Australians in residential aged care facilities.
Cameron, our Queensland State Manager, put it best when he said, “True strength isn’t just physical; it’s the power to lift spirits, inspire hope and bring joy. By supporting aged Australians and children facing illness, we’re not just giving—we’re helping them rise, smile, and embrace life with renewed strength.”
Research highlights the significant role that laughter and emotional connection can play in improving health outcomes. For children facing complex medical treatments or elderly Australians living with dementia or social isolation, laughter is often the best medicine. It reduces stress, improves mood, and fosters a sense of humanity and connection. Just as laughter is vital in these settings, laughing at the workplace is equally important—it can strengthen team bonds, reduce stress and create a more positive and connected work environment.
The funds Cameron is raising will help extend the reach of the Humour Foundation’s impactful programs, enabling their talented performers to bring joy to more individuals.
We proudly sponsor Cameron’s efforts as he tackles the half-marathon to support such an essential cause. To show your support and contribute to this meaningful initiative, visit Cameron’s donation page here.
