This commercial solar project at Karratha TAFE features Fronius inverters, Trina Tier 1, 320-watt panels, and Magellan Solar smoother units connected to the Horizon Power Network.
Following an engineering assessment of the Skills Centre and Fabrication buildings, the newest facilities on the Karratha Campus were selected for PV panel installation.
The project’s design and application process was complex and involved coordination with Horizon Power and the Australian Energy Regulator. It also required adherence to feed-in management and system engineering standards. Timelines were critical components of this project.
The system is expected to produce approximately 3.4 megawatt-hours annually, with the majority of the generated energy consumed by the campus.
