Horizon Power DER Project, Discovery Holiday Park – 99.85kW System

The installation at the Discovery Holiday Park was part of the Onslow Distributed Energy Resource (DER) Solar Project. It consisted of a 99.85 kW grid-connected system controlled by DERM and 57.6 kWh of battery storage.

This system was integrated with an advanced solar gate control system, providing virtual power network functionality. Horizon Power, the retail network operator, monitors and controls this system. The Distributed Energy Resource Management DERM) system allowed the network operator to manage the power flow for each battery and inverter, both into and out of the grid.

This method of distributed energy management enhanced grid stability for small power networks and microgrids.
