The installation was part of the Onslow DER Solar project, which consisted of a 94.5kW DERMs-controlled grid-connected system.
The installed system was linked by a sophisticated solar gate control system to provide virtual power network functionality, monitored and controlled by the retail network operator, Horizon Power. The Distributed Energy Resource Management system (DERM) allowed the network operator to regulate the flow of power for each individual inverter both into and out of the grid.
Distributed energy management facilitated grid stability for small power networks and microgrids.
