Rio Tinto Echo 2 is located at the Perth Airport and houses Rio Tinto’s administration staff. The 4-story office building on the grounds of the airport facility houses Rio Tinto’s remote operations staff.
The office has been built to a 4 Star Green Star rating and is designed to connect to the existing Rio Tinto Echo 1 building on each of the 3 levels and the underground basement.
MPS is contracted to maintain the mechanical services in the building.
Echo 2 is a 5-star GreenStar rated building and MPS provides weekly meter readings for NABERS and GreenStar reporting. The building is connected to a 500,000 litre chilled water storage tank, which provides chilled water during the day. The tank is charged at night during off-peak times.
MPS conducts Systems Interface Testing (SIT) and Essential Safety Measures Audits (EMS) annually with the building fire contractors and a third-party auditor. The SIT and ESM are carried out in accordance with AS1851.
